Transport and logistics for electronics and electrical engineering
Specialized Electronic products freight forwarding for telecommunications, automation and information technology
Sogedim is a qualified logistics operator in the transport of copper and optical fiber cables, products and electronic components for IT and ICT networks
The electronics industry, from the moment in which the use of electricity and household appliances asserts itself in homes, evolves and grows on the market, finding diversified developments in various fields.
From the electric to the electronic revolution, the transition was rapid, and now we are already within the new frontiers of digital and robotics.
Sogedim helps manufacturers of electrical instruments and appliances to increase profitability through safe and efficient transport and logistics solutions, for any B2B environment, destination and need.
Each transport operation is carried out in the most accurate way and with the utmost respect for the often delicate or fragile nature intrinsic to household appliances or certain electronic components.
Like transport, also warehouse storage procedures are carried out scrupulously according to handling and packaging rules that avoid any risk of damage to individual parts and electronic components. Handling goods of this type without due attention could in fact have a negative impact, from an economic point of view, on entire production sectors, with repercussions on the entire supply chain.

Import export of small household appliances – Other products in the tech sector
Household appliances, essential components of contemporary well-being
The advent of household appliances has radically changed our lifestyle and now refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, robots belong to our contemporary life as tools capable of offering an increasingly wide range of answers to daily needs. The development of home appliances is evolving at a very fast pace, leading to major social changes and impacting the improvement of the lives of human beings around the world. An increasingly “digital” and “smart” use in recent years has brought on the market kitchen robots, robots that do laundry, mini portable washing machines, dishwashers with Wi-Fi connection or multifunction refrigerators. Advanced robotics studies develop increasingly sophisticated appliances and smart home systems.
Household appliances Transport: Covid-19 effects on logistics
Within the range of household appliances we can carry out transport and logistics for the following categories:
small household appliances (irons, electric kettles, fans, vacuum cleaners, mincers, blenders, mixers, etc., sometimes even integrated with each other);
electrical appliances and appliances for communication and entertainment (telephones, televisions, recorders, radios, decoders, CD and DVD players, laptops);
large household appliances in turn divided by product into three main “lines”: “cold”, ie refrigerators, freezers and the like; “Washing”, ie washing machines and dishwashers, dryers and integrated washer-dryers; “Cooking”, which includes gas and electric cookers, ovens, hobs and microwave ovens, the major technological revolution of the Eighties and Nineties in this field.
Every year new models, functions and applications of telephones, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and televisions arrive on the market. So what can this year’s crisis generate, and how many new models and their satellites will come out for all the various industrial applications that exist today.
While on the one hand the coronavirus has taken over like a tsunami to upset the habits and consumption of Italians, according to recent data from the Findomestic Observatory it has been decisive in enhancing domestic technology, especially for Information Technology consumption (+ 23.5%) and small appliances (+ 9.5%).
With the Covid-19 pandemic, online requests for small appliances and household appliances for entertainment and communication are growing in parallel – for the home and SMART HOME sectors.
The surge in information technology (+ 23.5%) fuels a turnover which includes, among the most successful products, webcams (+ 60.3%), laptops (+ 53.1%) and also tablets (+ 20.7%): a clear reflection of smart working and distance learning. To press the numbers on the IT front, e-commerce has pushed a lot, which affects purchases with a share of 26.5%, marking an acceleration of 53% compared to last year.
The household appliance industry in the world: Sogedim supports the import / export trade of companies with competitive and reliable transport solutions
The household appliance industry bursts first in the United States, then in Europe it spreads with different times and rhythms from country to country, until it spread like wildfire in the most advanced areas of the planet. Starting from the seventies of the 20th century, the industry and the mass market of large household appliances trigger a competition between Italian companies in relation to globalization that inevitably affects their development. Today, this competition remains but within an ideology of “tech” and “digital” domestic “comfort”.

World export of electronic – electrotechnical products: Italian share on the rise
From the latest data provided by the Economic Observatory of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Electronics, the total value of our exports in 2019 was equal to 15.4 billion euros, compared to an import of 27.8 billion euros.
From ISTAT sources, the main recipients of exports of Italian electronic and electrotechnical products are: Spain (1.74 billion euro), Germany (1.43 billion euro) and the United States (1.23 billion euro); the main supplier countries include China (€ 5.46 billion), Germany (€ 4.39 billion) and the Netherlands (€ 4.34 billion).
For some time, globalization has affected the transfer of industrial processes to less advanced countries with low labor costs. This is the reason why the international trade in highly sophisticated electronic products sees countries as protagonists in which there is not necessarily a tradition and a scientific culture.
China is the leading country in the world in the manufacture of computers, refrigerators, washing machines, telephones and televisions.
AUTOMATION: increasingly “smart” industrial production thanks to robotics and “AI”
Automation products are an essential component of many industries’ business that have embraced the third – and the fourth – industrial revolution. Offering greater efficiency, higher productivity and less waste, automated systems are a great starting point for improving factory routines and production cycles. Automation is a branch of modern engineering that aims to reduce or eliminate human intervention in the production of goods and services, to identify all that is necessary to make a machine (or process) work automatically. Industrial automation, in particular, uses mechanical, electronic and computer technologies for the control of industrial production processes, governing flows of energy, materials and information.
Below are the automation products of which, among others, Sogedim carries out transport and logistics:
accessories for industrial switches
industrial communication (system cables, patches and connections, industrial computer systems, interfaces)
contactors and auxiliary switches accessories (datacenter – server rooms)
command and signaling devices (light indicators, switches)
movement and drives (motor accessories, frequency inverters, transmissions)
pneumatica pneumatics (actuators, filters and air treatment, vacuum products, fittings and pipes, air tanks, directional control valves)
industrial robots (industrial robotic arms, grippers and gripper systems)
The new era of the digital electronic sector, thanks to the support of robotics and cutting-edge programming, incredibly easy and intuitive, today offers faster production processes, in various fields with rigorous standards.
The experience gained for electronic and electrotechnical industries in multiple sectors and a dynamic organizational structure allow us to offer competitive transport solutions and fast quotations, satisfying the highest requirements (timing, flexibility, quality control, assistance) for each phase of the supply chain.
Sogedim manages freight forwarding and logistics for the different applications of the three sectors of the electrotechnical industry:
electromechanics that combines the applications of mechanics and electronics;
telecommunications, or the exchange of information at a distance through the use of optical, acoustic and electrical means;
electronic that deals with processing signals containing information.
The electromechanical industry is divided into two types:
heavy electromechanics, currently increasingly oriented towards the research and exploitation of alternative energy sources;
light electromechanics, born with the widespread use of household appliances.
