A fresh agreement that relies entirely on temperature controlled

Sogedim, leading freight forwarder and integrated transport and logistics services provider by land, sea and air worldwide, took over the DB Schenker Italian food transport business unit by road of temperature controlled and frozen products, giving additional strength to the network.

The acquisition, which is official from 1st June 2023, strategically expands the Sogedim Group Food & Beverage area thanks to a further consolidation of the partner network, while the team remains compact in serving customers without any change to the quality of the service offered.

The logistic terminal of Guanzate, in the province of Como, becomes an ulterior garrison of Sogedim in Lombardy and complements to the historical hubs in the province of Milan, maintaining all the points of reference until now active in this branch of company.

From 1st June 2023 Paola Ganzetti, Branch manager of Guanzate offices takes charge of the integration into the Sogedim Group and declares: “Nothing has changed for our customers, the reorganization remains based on a guarantee of continuity, moreover the feeling that we have established and strengthened over time with customers will only grow and improve, incorporated in the overall growth strategy of the Group”.

“The operation”, says the Project Manager Tommaso Torri, “futher enhances the company’s position in line with Sogedim Group’s growth strategy: we aim to offer a transport service specialized in cold logistics, ensuring freight forwarding in both the food and pharmaceutical sectors, in Italy, Europe and worldwide”.

And adds the SOGEDIM CEO, Emanuele Codazzi “With this prestigious acquisition we aim to achieve higher goals, through smart and sustainable policies combining capabilities and resources efficiently for the customers we serve, to whom a very high level of service must be guaranteed”.

The team is ready to continue providing all the necessary support open to dialogue and in constant collaboration between the Food & Beverage departments to achieve the best performance and characteristics of the temperature controlled transport service.

Thanks to this further extension we are witnessing a big improvement of the commercial activities on the territory with additional benefits for companies interested in the transportation of fresh and frozen food.
